Trial Design

Uncontrolled

Duration

6 weeks of treatment

Subjects

15 healthy Japanese women aged 18-51 years, who did not have extensive pigmentary disorders such as cholasma, ephelides, or multiple solar lentigines on the face.

Regimen

Subjects applied Concentré Anti-taches Nuit to the entire face once a day at night.

Methods of Assessment

Captured skin images were analyzed for hue, saturation and value of the forehead and left cheek at baseline and after 6 weeks of application.

Evaluation was also conducted by 3 investigators through the combination of observation and photographs, using a 5-point scale.

Skin brightness, the red–green chromacity coordinate and the blue– yellow chromacity coordinate were measured using a chromameter.

Side Effects

None reported.

Conflicts of Interest

None declared.

Effects observed in this study:

Investigators assessed skin whiteness of the forehead and left cheek to have improved in 8 out of the 15 subjects (57%) after 6 weeks of application, while the remaining 7 subjects saw neither improvement nor worsening. HSV data showed significant improvement in Saturation of the forehead and left cheek, and Value of the forehead. 6 weeks of treatment

Subjects

12 Japanese women aged 20-55 years.

Regimen

3 sites on the left upper inner arm of each subject was exposed to minimal erythema doses (MED) of solar-simulated radiation 3 times a day. 6-8 hours post-irradiation, Concentré Anti-taches Nuit was applied to one site, its vehicle to another site and one site remained untreated.

Methods of Assessment

Whitening effect was evaluated by observation and digital photography.

Skin lightness was measured using a chromameter.

Side Effects

None reported.

Conflicts of Interest

None declared.

Effects observed in this study:

After 6 weeks, Concentré Anti-taches Nuit was judged to be effective or very effective in inhibiting darkening in 10 of the 12 women (83%), compared to the untreated areas. It also produced a whitening effect compared to the vehicle-treated sites in 4 of these women. Overall, although the vehicle-applied areas were not significantly different from the product-applied areas, the sites were the product had been applied were significantly paler than the untreated sites.
