Revidox

There is good evidence that these capsules containing resveratrol and procyanidines are effective in smoothing wrinkles, lightening age spots, hydrating the skin and improving its elasticity.

Clinical Studies

Resveratrol-procyanidin blend: nutraceutical and antiaging efficacy evaluated in a placebocontrolled, double-blind study.

Products

Revidox

Trial Design

Double-blind, placebo-controlled

Duration

60 days of treatment

Subjects

50 healthy Caucasian males and females aged 35-65 years, showing clinical signs of aging (wrinkles, dull complextion, brown spots).

Regimen

1 capsule per day of Revidox or a matching placebo were taken for 60 days.

Methods of Assessment

Antioxidant evaluation: Plasmatic and skin antioxidant tests performed on blood samples.

Skin moisturization: Corneometer measurements at five different sites on the cheek.

Skin elasticity: Cutometer measurements

Skin surface: Primos 3D to evaluate wrinkle depth and skin roughness.

Brown spot intensity: Spectrophotometer / colorimeter measurements.

Side Effects

None reported.

Conflicts of Interest

None declared.

Effects observed in this study:

Systemic oxidative stress decreased significantly after 60 days and antioxidant capacity improved to normal, with the improvement in the treated group being significantly higher. The antioxidant power of the skin also improved in the treated group, and levels of skin antioxidants were significantly higher than in the placebo group.

Skin moisturization improved in the treated group, with previously dry skin becoming moisturized. The placebo group subjects did not show improved skin hydration, and remained significantly less moisturized. Likewise, skin elasticity improved significantly in the treated group, but deteriorated slightly in the placebo group. Wrinkle depth and skin roughness diminished significantly in the treated group as well, but these parameters were significantly worse in the placebo group. Finally the intensity of age spots decreased to a significantly greater extent in the treated group than in the placebo group.
