Glycylglycine oleamide is a small molecule formed from a reaction between the peptide glycylglycine and oleic acid. It was patented in 1999 for use in cosmetics to protect the connective tissue of the skin from glycation and elastosis (R).
Glycylglycine oleamide is amphiphilic - the peptide is hydrophilic, while the fatty acid is lipophilic, facilitating its penetration of the skin barrier (R).
