Introduction

What is soybean oil?

Soybean oil is a vegetable oil consisting of triglycerides of the linoleic, oleic, linolenic, and saturated fatty acids. It is often used in cosmetic and personal care products due to its ability to moisturise and lubricate the skin (R).

Does soybean oil get absorbed?

Soybean oil has been shown to penetrate more deeply into the stratum corneum than many other oils, including jojoba oil, avocado oil, paraffin oil and petrolatum (R). It is also able to permeate across the epidermis (R).
